You know those times in your life when you just need to focus on your family?
Yes, your family and what is going to work best for them now and into the future.
Well, the time for my family is now. I am sure many of you are probably thinking the same thing with the coming of the new year.

We decided a short while ago to make a big move, yes, it may only be across town for us, but it is a new district for my son and a major clean out and get rid of the old for my husband and I. I am one of those gals who wants to keep everyhting and has a hard time parting with things from the past. Well, it is time. I guess you could call it one of those 2010 resolutions. We are all super excited, super nervous, but super ready to make it a go! 

I created this layout, with all the glitter and glam that we are feeling right now; that and a touch of sentimentality. I know it looks like a Valentine's Day layout, but it is really a layout about how we are feeling right now; full of love, life and living. I hope it inspires you to try new things and take on that challenge you have been wanting to for years!

Like I said, make it a go in 2010.

Supplies:
Helmar Zapdots: 1/2" Clear round, 1/4" White Round, 1/4" White Square, 1/2" White Square.
Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue
Helmar 450 Stainless Steel Clear Adhesive
Helmar Liquid Scrapdots
Helmar Quick Fix permanent Adhesive Tape Runner
Clearsnap:Colorbox Catseye 6 Nested Inks and Winter Frost/Ruby Slipper Glitters
Rusty Pickle: White Christmas Papers & Trims, Big Love Chipboard Accents, Buttons, Number Chipboard
Vintage Watch Parts
Acrylic Heart
Prismatics Cardstock
American Crafts Black Pen

 

Layout Process:

 
1.) Spread Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue over a portion of the Rusty PickleHeart Chipboard and sprinkly with the very light Clearsnap Ruby Slippers Red glitter. Let Dry. I just have to mention that Clearsnap's glitter is so light too the touch, it is almost like a smooth fluff as is goes on the chipboard. I just LOVE their glitter!!!!!

Clearsnap is a sponsor for our Helmar Design Teamand we have had the fortune (or blessing) of receiving tons of amazing, high quality, products to use. I have always used Clearnsap for various inks and such, but getting to try some of their newest products has been a true treat. (More to come)

 
2.) Once dry, shake glitter onto surface and put back into container for later use.

 
3.) Cover Acrylic Heart with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and quickly sprinkle with Clearsnap's Winter Frost Glitter. (luscious color) Dries quickly, so be ready with the glitter.

 
4.) Once dry, shake and save that precious white glitter for another project.
(One can never have too much white glitter!)

 
5.)Adhere long 4x10 cut of Red Rusty PicklePaper to Scalloped background with Helmar Quick Fix Permanent Adhesive Runner.

 
6.) Adhere Helmar's 1/2" White Square Zapdotsto the rear of the chipboard I liked the medium thickness to add the raised dimension that the larger sized chipboard needed. Adhere Chipboard to Layout with Zapdots.

 
7.) Adhere the Clear helmar 1/2" Round Zapdotsto the rear of the acrylic. These little ditties are very cool, if you have not had the chance to grab some yet. All you need to do is lay the clear acrylic on top of the Zapdot and slowly lift upward. It sticks and yes, it is clear! perfect for acrylic and glitter.

 
8.) Once again, adhere the Zapdotsthe the rear of the tag, pull the cover and stick. I used the smaller squares for th edges this time. I needed a thin and small accent to still provide the secure hold, but not a huge push from behind the tag. The large square was perfect for the larger end, where I needed the push.

 
9.)Adhere tag to Glittered Chipboard. Add buttons, with the smaller Zapdots. In this case, I used the 1/2" Round white zapdots. Perfect thin lift, that is easily hidden.

 

 
10.) Add Metal watch parts or any metal ephemera. Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots is perfect for the invisible and multi-layered lift. In this case, it took just a minute amount, but was perfect for a quick addition.

 
11.) Add twill and Fibers. I tied a knot in the tag, but just added the Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue in an ample amount behind the tag and laid the fabrics on top to dry. Nice strong hold.

 
12. Inking: Clearsnap Bronze. Lightly pat onto the Rusty Pickle Chipboard. It will give a lovely light faux paint look. Push away at the edges for a smeared thick look.

 
 

12.) Add Helmar Liquid Scrapdotsbehind the Chipboard for a quick lift behind the Chipboard number and squish the chipboard into place. I liked that I had mobility behind the chipboard with the Scrapdots. Place chipboard onto the layout and move into place by lightly tapping to desired position off of paper. Let dry.

 
13.) Sit layout aside to dry. Add photo to complete.

This layout took me just a tad bit over an hour, not including the drying time. 
Not all techniques take a long time, as long as you have adhesive that works well.

I'll be back later this week, my friends! So much has been happening these past few months, i had to crawl into my porfesiional music teach mode. The programs went awesome and I have lots to share. yep, i am back ito the creative scrapping mode again. The little breaks give me fresh ideas and inspitations! Woo hoo, feel good to be back though!
